{Notes} NYC and a Big DC Green Wedding

If May is as busy as the past week was, I should probably get to bed early tonight!

Last week I went to New York City for the night to attend the {Burju Shoes} Launch Party. It was great to finally meet Bernadette Smith of {It’s About Time Events} and Karina Jimenez of {Something Blue NY}. I will share pictures from the party on Monday! The party was held at Nest Lounge and the theme of the night was of course shoes. Karina planned and designed the event. Guests were able to try on the Burju collection in the shoe salon while enjoy the Something Blue candy bar. The highlight of the event was seeing the wedding gown by designer Lisa Krizner-George of {Vanilla Pink}. The blue and white gown was a hit. Underneath the gown was the true treat- custom Burju Shoes made just for that dress!

After a 3AM train ride I was back in Washington, DC on Wednesday morning to get ready for the {DC Green Wedding Consortium’s} giveaway wedding. Dana Dunn married David Jea at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon. Greta Kreuz from local ABC 7 covered the wedding as part of the station’s Earth Day coverage. The wedding was a beautiful eco couture affair planned and designed by Katie Martin of {Elegance & Simplicity}. Dana wore an Adele Wechsler gown from {Promise…for the Savvy Bride} and was styled by Robin Fisher of {POLISHED}. Tomorrow I will do a special post with photos from Dana & David’s big day.

All my best,

Michelle

{Notes} Shoes, Green Weddings & Tech Bytes

April marks a busy month! Next week I will head up to NYC for the night for the {Burju Shoes Launch Party} and get to meet two of our new clients: Karina Jimenez of {Something Blue NY} and Bernadette Smith of {It’s About Time Events}. I am also excited to meet some my favorite editors at the party.

On April 22, the DC Green Wedding Consortium $50,000 wedding giveaway winners are getting married! I can’t wait to see what Katie Martin of {Elegance & Simplicity} came up with for the super eco couture big day.

Finally, on April 30 {5Senses Events Design} will present the first ever {Say “I Do”} eco chic cocktail event for brides in Pittsburgh. I wish could be there for this one.

There are so many other great things I can’t wait to share over the coming weeks including the {Las Vegas Bridal Tour}! Oh, and in case you missed it Friday- {Canditto} was on ABC News’ Tech Bytes! See it {here}.

Have a wonderful week!

All my best,

Michelle

{Client Adventures} I Saw THE Dress!

If you’ve seen Sex & the City The Move, then you’ve seen THE dress. Carrie Bradshaw wears the Vivienne Westwood creation on her big day and we all know how that day turns out. Well… I digress…

Last Wednesday I took a road trip down to Charlotte to see Carrie’s dress in person. On Thursday March 5, I attended the {Hayden Olivia Bridal’s} Dress in the Queen City charity fashion show. My wonderful client {Ivy Robinson} handled the event design for the night. The event was held at {SUITE} at EpiCentre in uptown Charlotte.

When my best friend and I arrived at SUITE we immediately fell in love with the hip, sexy and chic décor of the night. Turnout was great and excitement was high. As the show began we were impressed with the diversity of dress designers. Featured designers included: {Modern Trousseau}, {Christos} and {Kenneth Pool}. The finale piece was of course {Vivienne Westwood’s} Carrie dress. It was equally beautiful in person as it was on screen!

The night was a huge success and all of the proceeds went to {Dress for Success Charlotte}! I can’t wait to get back to Charlotte.

All my best,

Michelle

P.S. When I do go back to Charlotte, Ivy and I will have to have dinner at {Copper} again. The food there is delicious! See my post from last Wednesday {here}.
