{Client Adventures} POLISHED Shoot Pt. 1
Shannon of {Sevan Photography} took photos of the models in many different styles, including professional, casual wear, cocktail and bridal attire.
POLISHED owner Robin Fisher styled each model beautifully. It was exciting to see the thought and detail she put into each look. Assisting Robin, were Karla Ayala and Christiana Green, who put as much attention into making the styles unique and chic.
Make-up artist, Freddie, did a fantastic job of enhancing the model’s beauty with her personalized touch.
The photo shoot was filled with music, energy and fun. Models Chimere, Danielle and Harriett displayed the attire with grace and style. We can’t wait for the photos to get back so we can share them with everyone.
Best,
Dawn

{Notes} NYC and a Big DC Green Wedding
Last week I went to New York City for the night to attend the {Burju Shoes} Launch Party. It was great to finally meet Bernadette Smith of {It’s About Time Events} and Karina Jimenez of {Something Blue NY}. I will share pictures from the party on Monday! The party was held at Nest Lounge and the theme of the night was of course shoes. Karina planned and designed the event. Guests were able to try on the Burju collection in the shoe salon while enjoy the Something Blue candy bar. The highlight of the event was seeing the wedding gown by designer Lisa Krizner-George of {Vanilla Pink}. The blue and white gown was a hit. Underneath the gown was the true treat- custom Burju Shoes made just for that dress!
After a 3AM train ride I was back in Washington, DC on Wednesday morning to get ready for the {DC Green Wedding Consortium’s} giveaway wedding. Dana Dunn married David Jea at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon. Greta Kreuz from local ABC 7 covered the wedding as part of the station’s Earth Day coverage. The wedding was a beautiful eco couture affair planned and designed by Katie Martin of {Elegance & Simplicity}. Dana wore an Adele Wechsler gown from {Promise…for the Savvy Bride} and was styled by Robin Fisher of {POLISHED}. Tomorrow I will do a special post with photos from Dana & David’s big day.

On April 22, the DC Green Wedding Consortium $50,000 wedding giveaway winners are getting married! I can’t wait to see what Katie Martin of {Elegance & Simplicity} came up with for the super eco couture big day.
Finally, on April 30 {5Senses Events Design} will present the first ever {Say “I Do”} eco chic cocktail event for brides in Pittsburgh. I wish could be there for this one.
There are so many other great things I can’t wait to share over the coming weeks including the {Las Vegas Bridal Tour}!
Have a wonderful week!

{Client Adventures} I Saw THE Dress!
Last Wednesday I took a road trip down to Charlotte to see Carrie’s dress in person. On Thursday March 5, I attended the {Hayden Olivia Bridal’s} Dress in the Queen City charity fashion show. My wonderful client {Ivy Robinson} handled the event design for the night. The event was held at {SUITE} at EpiCentre in uptown Charlotte.
When my best friend and I arrived at SUITE we immediately fell in love with the hip, sexy and chic dĂ©cor of the night. Turnout was great and excitement was high. As the show began we were impressed with the diversity of dress designers. Featured designers included: {Modern Trousseau}, {Christos} and {Kenneth Pool}. The finale piece was of course {Vivienne Westwood’s} Carrie dress. It was equally beautiful in person as it was on screen!
The night was a huge success and all of the proceeds went to {Dress for Success Charlotte}! I can’t wait to get back to Charlotte.
All my best,
Michelle
P.S. When I do go back to Charlotte, Ivy and I will have to have dinner at {Copper} again. The food there is delicious! See my post from last Wednesday {here}.

{Client Adventures} Dana’s Dress

Photos courtesy of {Documentary Associates}.
Recently I joined Dana at {Promise…for the Savvy Bride} for her dress fitting. Dana was able to hand pick a selection of gowns from {Adele Wechsler’s} eco couture collection for her fitting.
I must admit it was quite fun being a part of an evening filled amazing gowns and a blushing bride-to-be. All I can say is that Dana’s selection is sure to make David’s heart beat faster and Dana’s mother eyes well with tears of joy! Here are some photos from the fun fitting at Promise. {And nope these aren’t all of the dresses she tried on and I am definitely not posting the winning gown here!}
If you haven’t checked out Adele Wechsler’s eco couture collection yet- you should. Who knew eco could be so chic?

Couture dresses, gorgeous flowers and great company- what more could I ask for? At a recent photo shoot for an upcoming book, I had all three. The shoot was held at the {National Museum of Women in the Arts}. All of the floral arrangements were created by {Elegance & Simplicity} and the dresses were provided by {Promise for the Savvy Bride}.
I would love to give you more details, but it would be dangerous for me to spill any more info here. Instead, I will share a few photos with you. And when the danger fades, I will tell you all about the new book.

{Client Adventures} Couture Bridal Show

Photos: Top left: Kelly, Middle: Elegance & Simplicity lounge area, Top Right: Two more beautiful models, Bottom left: Jessica Fox & Daphne, Bottom right: Table of area bridal magazines & swag bags for brides.
The show began with a special networking hour for area wedding vendors and media. Just before noon brides-to-be and their guests began arriving. The buzz of the day was the 3:30PM Green Wedding Giveaway drawing. Throughout the day I was able to chat with several brides-to-be. Many of them were hopeful they would be the lucky winner of the DC Green Wedding Consortium’s 50K big giveaway. Brides-to-be enjoyed delicious cupcakes from {Cakes by Design} and delectable appetizers from {Avalon Caterers}.
By 3:29PM everyone was clamoring in anticipation of the big announcement! Katie Martin did the honors of announcing the big winners…Dana Dunne & David Jea!
Dana was the first bride-to-be to arrive at the show. Her best friend accompanied her. I left before David arrived, but I was able to congratulate Dana and warn her she’d be seeing a whole lot of me over the next 2.5 months!
All my best,
Michelle
